Overview

When Jinko Solar first started out in 2006, it was a wafer manufacturer. Today, the company has expanded into photovoltaic manufacturing and development of solar projects. It provides residential, commercial and utility solutions to customers in the United States of America, China, Germany, Japan, Chile, the United Kingdom, India, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Belgium, France and Spain amongst others.

The company employs 12000 people and has 8 production facilities across the globe. It also has 16 overseas subsidiaries in Singapore, Japan, Turkey, India, Italy, Germany, the United States of America, Switzerland, Mexico, Canada, Chile, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa and Australia. It is also one of six members of the Silicon Module Super League or SMSL, a group made up of the six largest suppliers of c-Si solar modules worldwide. All in all, it has deployed products that have generated 29GW so far.

Jinko Solar is ranked fifth in the largest suppliers for rooftop solar projects and seventh for utility scale projects in India.

Jinko Solar Panels

Jinko Solar manufactures polycrystalline photovoltaic modules. These are classified in about 8 categories – Eagle, Eagle PERC, Eagle Dual, Eagle Plus, Eagle MCT, Eagle PERC Plus, 1500V module and Smart Module.

The Eagle category has the Eagle 48, 60 and 72 modules which vary in terms of power output. All three modules can resist high winds, heavy snowfalls, high salt mist and ammonia. They also perform well in low-light conditions due to the texturing of the glass and the surface.

The Eagle PERC consists again of 48, 60 and 72 modules. The modules are composed of busbar solar cells, the numbers of which vary from module to module. The module conversion efficiency is heightened due to technology called Passivated Emitter Rear Contact or PERC.

The Eagle Dual is available in 60 and 72 modules. They vary in module efficiency which has been maximized in each using white back plates. Both are designed to deal with voltage systems as high as 1500 VDC.

The 1500V series, as the name suggests, has been designed to pass a maximum voltage of 1500V. The JKM280PP-60-V and JKM335PP-72-V modules can also handle high wind and snow loads up to 2400 Pascal and 5400 Pascal respectively. The JKM300M-60-V and JKM360M-72-V have high resistance to salt mist and ammonia – TUV NORD certified.

The Smart Module is available in the M series and the S series. The M and S series come with an intelligent cell optimizer IC that is built-in and helps to deal with the fallout from panel mismatch.  The M series also eliminates hot spots which helps to minimize panel degradation.
