Constructed in Bengaluru by The Purple Ink Studio, Axis Pramiti is the new addition to the list of schools in the country. What sets this school, however, apart, is its belief of breaking away from the stereotypical teaching practices reflects on the design of the building. The site is blessed with steep slopes and had trees existing on its terrain, which gave the designers an added advantage to utilise the resources and merge the structure in it environment. This makes the space to act as safe while encouraging interaction amongst the students from different backgrounds and age groups. Each learning space is placed around an outdoor courtyard accommodating study and play in one frame. All the classrooms are oriented according to the climate, making natural daylighting and ventilation comfortable for the children and the staff. The spaces are designed by combining cement finishes, pigmented walls and brick jaali openings which connect the interior and exteriors. The flooring in all the main rooms is done using Kota stone while the common corridors are planned with IPS.
