Spanning 15.8 square kilometers, the Deira Islands are located in the North East end of Dubai. Four contracts for the different islands have been awarded by master developer Nakheel and approximately AED 7.5 billion have been spent in infrastructure and construction contracts. The island A will be connected to the main land directly with services such as four-star hotel and yacht club, shopping mall, beach front resorts, anchor retail venues, a boardwalk, residential tower and food and beverage outlets. It will also accommodate a cultural centre. The waterfront city is going to add 40 kilometres to Dubai’s coastline. Greenery, parking and social infrastructure will be of vital importance for the development. A concept of Night Market makes the islands stand apart from any other development done in Dubai at present. The market will be a series of modular villages totalling a length of 1.8 kilometres. The open markets will not only give the visitors a chance to interact with the history of the traditional exhibits at the place but also help reduce energy consumption.

People would also be given an option to dine alongside waterfronts. The master plan for the NakheelDeira Islands has been prepared by AE7 and approved by Nakheel, providing a leisurely experience at an affordable price. The Deira Islands Night Souk is under construction and due to open in 2018 and has more than 5,300 waterside shops and restaurants.
