A bench, headed by Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal, sat down on Friday at the Delhi High Court to take a serious look at the industries which are operating on either non-profit conforming or residential areas despite the government providing them an industrial belt at Narela-Bawana. The bench has directed the North Delhi Municipal Corporation to look into the matter.

The industrial areas with infrastructure have obviously been set up on Government land at huge cost to the public exchequer. Perhaps the Government would have incurred huge amounts on land acquisition as well. The NDMC shall conduct a fresh inquiry of the industries and inform these Court zone-wise details of the industrial units within two weeks from today. The details shall disclose the date of commencement of the industrial activity and date of the sealing of properties, the bench said.
