What is a Panic Bar on a fire door?

A Fire Escape or Exit is a special escape route which is easily accessible in an unfortunate event of a fire and provides safe exit to the occupants.

• A Panic Bar is a horizontal piece of hardware that is fixed on a Fire Door .It’s spring type mechanism helps in the emergency exit of the Building’s occupants.
• The Panic Bar mechanism includes a door lock which is specially assembled in such a way that by mere pressure on the horizontal bar the lock is released and the door opens.
