Italian Modular Kitchen:

Modular kitchens done in one of two styles, country or contemporary, are usually referred to as Italian modular kitchens. The country style is one that incorporates a country or rustic feel. Such a kitchen generally has a dining table and chairs arranged in the middle of the kitchen. The cabinets are finished with laminate in one colour. Most of the times, this colour is white. The kitchen appliances are steel and some of the glass and storage space come with an anodized aluminium finish to match the appliances.

The contemporary style, on the other hand, is minimalist in design and is all about sleek lines. The minimalist design is incorporated in every part of the kitchen from the cooking area to the cabinetry and countertops. This style of kitchen generally has an island running down the middle which can be used for dining as well as cooking.

Italian Kitchen Design:

Italian kitchens have many features that stand out from the crowd and identify their style. One of these is colour. Italian kitchens generally use hues that are natural and reminiscent of the Mediterranean. To this end, Italian modular kitchens, especially those in the country style, can come in a variety of colours including burnt orange, ochre, mild yellows, shining blues and terracotta. The style comes across as at once elegant and relaxed.

Backsplashes, countertops and floors generally use a more natural look. Countertops come in granite or stone, floors in slate or terracotta tiles and backsplashes in mosaic patterns that are unique. The country style has antique racks from which assorted pots and pans can hang. A lot of emphasis is given to displaying the cooking utensils.

When it comes to lighting, Italian kitchens rely a lot on natural light. The idea is to make the kitchen seem airy and bright so there are windows and artificial lighting is designed along the same lines. In keeping with the natural theme, it is not uncommon to find flowers and plants in the kitchen and even some artwork that depicts scenes from rural life.

Accessories and appliances range from modern or vintage styles in bold, bright colours to simple stainless steel designs that go well with Mediterranean style or Tuscan style.

The furniture also tends to follow the same theme. The wood used in the table and chairs is normally distressed and natural. In Mediterranean style kitchens, the furniture is more contemporary or modern in style with stainless steel or bright colours being the norm.

Italian Modular Kitchen Price:

Italian modular kitchens start from a rate of Rs. 50,000 per piece.
